Ellen Brown's Web of Debt has to be the best book ever on the American and world banking system and markets and explaining how we got to be ruled by the bankers.
It is fascinating to read about the ongoing battle between politicians and bankers and how the Federal Reserve was established in 1913.
I finally understand why my efforts to convince politicians to do something about credit reporting and banking were doomed from day 1, a complete waste of time.
Ellen Brown really knows how to explain even complex financial concepts. It is absolutely mind blowing to see how the American tax payers get screwed by the banks, that the US government pays interest on the $9 trillion debt while the banks CREATE money through accounting entries and then have the audacity to charge us interest on money they created.
Web of Debt is about a lot more than banking and explains everything from hedge funds to derivatives to naked short sales.
The economy is doomed unless the government takes control of the currency and prohibits fractional reserve banking, margin trading and all the other scams.
